About the job

The global energy sector is changing rapidly, and one component that has become central to this transition is the power converter. At DEIF, we are developing state-of-the-art converter technologies in collaboration with leading partners like AVL and Wolfspeed. These converters are pivotal in applications such as marine industries, grid integration, energy storage and hybrid energy systems – all to support the phase-out of fossil fuels.

As Systems Engineer – Power Converter, you’ll play a crucial role in design, development, and optimisation of power converts and related systems in close collaboration with specialist and developers in DEIF. Together, you’ll ensure the successful implementation of cutting-edge power solutions.

We’re looking for someone who want to make real impact – someone who understands both the technical depth and the bigger picture. In this role, you’ll be the crucial link between Technical Product Management and R&D, helping us turn ideas into innovative solutions.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced power conversion systems from specifications to product release.
  • Break down requirements and features into functions subfunctions and interface definitions
  • Prepare technical documentation, including risk assessments, DFMEA, design specifications, test reports, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
  • Identify and handle technical and performance risks.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for power systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry requirements.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot power conversion issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in power conversion technologies and implement best practices.

Your profile

As a person, you thrive on technical challenges and enjoy making things happen – not just independently, but through close collaboration with others. You’re curious and motivated by solving complex problems that require both deep technical insight and cross-functional teamwork.

In addition, you bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience within design and working with power converters and power electronics.
  • Preferable experience as systems engineer or in a similar cross-functional technical role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, enabling you to work effectively across teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and systems engineering tools (e.g. Polarion, DOORS, SysML)
