FOSS Analytical A/S is looking for a talented and highly skilled machine learning scientist with a strong background in deep learning to develop our future imaging and spectroscopic solutions for food analysis.
This is an exciting opportunity, as you will have significant influence on FOSS’ future innovation opportunities. In a global world with a growing population, there is an ever-increasing demand for safer food and less food waste. Our solutions provide accurate measurements and analytics insights to optimize food production from raw materials to finished products, and ultimately better global usage of limited resources.
Primary tasks
Your main responsibility will be to develop and evaluate new machine learning algorithms for our analytical instruments based on imaging and spectroscopy. You will work in a dedicated project team and be responsible for the data chain. You will work in close collaboration with our hardware and software teams as well as marketing organization in taking the data chain from concept to deployment and sales release. In this task, you will be responsible for:
- Define the data needs for training machine learning models capable of fulfilling performance targets.
- Develop algorithms and data pipelines.
- Design experiments to test the data chain.
- Assist in understanding and translating customer requirements to performance targets.
- Contribute to improving the way we work with data and algorithms.
Your daily work will be at the FOSS innovation center in Hillerød, Denmark.
About you
You hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in computer science or engineering or similar education, and have:
- Extensive hands-on experience using deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Proficient in data science methodologies, including experimental design, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing, using tools such as Python, Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
- Experience in machine learning development best-practices and MLOps workflows.
- Good understanding of image processing, with practical use of libraries such as OpenCV.
- Familiar with optimizing deep learning models for efficient deployment on edge devices and resource constrained environments is a plus.
- Previous industry experience in applied machine learning projects is considered an advantage.
We expect you to have an interest in:
- the full data chain of analytical instruments.
- developing real-life food/agri applications to benefit FOSS customers.
- Staying up to date with the latest development with AI/ML domain.
As a person you are structured and self-driven when part of a strong team. You’re curious about new problems and thrive on solving difficult tasks. Your record of accomplishments shows an ability to understand complex systems and to work systematically with troubleshooting, incl. designing and performing experiments. Further, you are open-minded and want to succeed as a team and help your colleagues. If you recognize yourself in the above description, we look forward to hearing from you.
We offer
We offer a motivating job in an international, dynamic, and innovative organization. We are market leaders within our field and very proud of the results we deliver.
