Responsibilities / Tasks

At our office in Søborg, you will join our Automation Department, where you will meet a group of international engineers working together on the automation and hardware design required for all our process plants worldwide.

More specifically, you will join the Digitalization Engineering Execution - a diverse team of 30 energetic engineers, who are ready to combine knowledge on plant processes with control system to provide digital products to GEA plants.

As our new digitalization engineer, you will work on project execution of our digital product in close collaboration with software and hardware engineers in GEA as well as our end-customers in the food and dairy industry.

You will be the main contact to customers worldwide, with the aim to integrate our digital products with the customers’ systems. This includes keeping stakeholders aligned and guiding customers to how to optimise the performance. Ultimately, you will be ensuring that our customers’ process plants always have the best performance and are taken care of through our digital product.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Analysing real-time data and tuning process plants on our digital platform with dashboards
  • Proactive in the interaction with customers, having close contact with them, ensuring support and guidance in plant productivity
  • Supporting and guiding on IT/OT integration with customer
  • Configuring virtual machines on servers and administering remote control systems
  • Working closely with our process experts to ensure product quality
  • Providing guidance in digital security and writing user manuals related to digital systems and tools

This role will take you travelling 30-40 days per year, doing commissioning of digital solutions all over the world. Please note: This is a fixed-term, one-year cover for parental leave.

Your Profile / Qualifications

You enjoy communicating with colleagues, vendors, and customers around the world. You must be able to present complex information to both specialists and non-technical stakeholders. Furthermore, you are motivated by delving into new professional areas. This comes before experience, as we imagine that you:

  • Preferably have a degree in electrical, chemical, and biochemical engineering or similar, having knowledge in plant processes and PID tuning.
  • Are ready to learn about, e.g., VMware, IT/OT, and tools for advanced process control
  • Have fluency in English - it is our corporate language and all contracts and communication with customers are in English. Mastering Danish and other languages is a plus but not a requirement.
