R&D Hardware Technician

About the job

As our new Hardware Technician, you’ll join our Hardware & Mechanics team, consisting of 19 skilled employees. In this role, you will support the development of new products from the early concept phase to final release, focusing on tasks between electronics and mechanics. You will be the key driver of prototype assembly, documentation, and testing, and have the satisfaction of seeing the direct impact of your work!

You’ll take part in our converter project, which is one of DEIF’s most exciting and strategically important initiatives, and here your role is to support the hardware development – from building and handling prototypes to testing and documenting

Working tasks & responsibilities

• Build and assemble prototypes and test setups for development and verification
• Design and document cables, busbars, and mechanical/electrical integrations
• Select and specify electronic components for new designs
• Maintain and update prototype PCBs, including electrical rework
• Prepare and manage BOMs and technical documentation
• Support execution of hardware-based development tests
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to secure task progress and results

What do you need to apply?

You have a technical background as technician or electrician and worked with R&D and product development for minimum 3-5 years. As a person, you thrive on challenges, take a proactive approach to your work, and have a strong sense of ownership when it comes to delivering results.

You’re comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and familiar with Agile methods, enabling you to contribute effectively in a dynamic and iterative development process.
