The job

We are currently seeking a talented PCBA Test Engineer with a focus on supporting our present systems, particularly with expertise in LabVIEW and TestStand and has a system understanding. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of developers and engineers. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our PCBA testing procedures, utilizing your proficiency in LabVIEW and TestStand to optimize testing processes and enhance efficiency.

You will have the opportunity to actively participate in design reviews, providing invaluable input from a testability perspective. Your role in these design reviews will be instrumental in ensuring that products are not only well-designed but also optimized for efficient and effective testing processes.

During design reviews, you will leverage your expertise in PCBA testing to assess the testability of proposed designs. You will analyze circuit layouts, component placements, and connectivity to identify potential testing challenges and opportunities for improvement. By offering insights from a testability point of view, you will help guide the design process towards solutions that are not only functional and innovative but also practical and easy to test.

Your role in supporting production and suppliers with PCBA test issues will be essential in maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and maximizing product quality and ensuring the seamless integration of PCBA testing into our production processes and the success of our products in the market.

The candidate

You have a strong foundation in electrical engineering concepts and is proficient in a variety of testing methodologies, tools, and equipment. You have in-depth knowledge of PCB assembly processes, test automation frameworks, and programming languages such as LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or C/C++.

You possess strong analytical abilities, enabling you to dissect complex testing challenges, identify root causes of issues. You approach problems methodically, breaking them down into manageable components and exploring multiple solutions to find the most effective resolution. You're adept at troubleshooting circuitry, interpreting test results, and implementing corrective actions to improve test coverage and accuracy.

In this role, you'll encounter scenarios where the pressure can be high, particularly during production stoppages. These moments demand swift and effective problem-solving skills, as any delay in production can have significant consequences.

Your tenacity shines through as you skillfully address equipment issues, minimizing disruptions to production and ensuring seamless operations.

Qualifications

You hold a degree in electronics engineering and must be fluent in English and Danish.

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five years of working experience in most of the following areas:

  • PCBA test development and support
  • Electronics & schematic design
  • Labview, TestStand, python or other scripting languages
  • Planning, coordination, and communication

Meet Mariana – Chemometrician in Research & Development

Mariana is a Spanish Chemometrician specialised in NIR. Coming from a research background her move to FOSS was motivated by a desire to work with real products and real customers. AT FOSS she is involved in the innovation of new products, developing calibrations for the EyeFoss image analysis grain analyser.
