  • Join GE HealthCare in C++ development for ultrasound. Are you interested in working in cross functional teams where your analytical skills in software architecture and design are tested? This is your opportunity to become part of an innovative team where your work has a real impact on people’s lives around the world.

As our new Software Engineer, you will be part of a full stack feature team of 10 developers. We are a department of 50 employees, all developing software for our ultrasound scanners. You will work close together with highly competent software developers and collaborate cross functionally with UX designers, Marketing, Application specialists, Quality, and other teams.

We are facing new opportunities in our core segment and need more hands to solve the new tasks. That is why we are seeking a new software developer, who can learn our software platform and adapt to new technologies and development methods. Our software is critical in ensuring that the surgeon has the right tools for diagnosing an illness or performing precise surgical procedures using ultrasound as a guide.

Our R&D division consists of multiple departments, including hardware, software, mechanics, project management, new technology and applications, and system and production testing. We are around 90 employees in the R&D division in Denmark and approximately 15 colleagues in India and Poland, employed in testing and software development.

Based on your profile, the tasks can cover all aspects of our system, e.g., UI, 3D modelling focused specifically on linear algebra, as well as handling of patient data to support the doctor’s workflow. We use Windows, C++, Qt, Visual Studio, Git, Cmake, Jenkins, gtest and work with agile practices. Although we use a Windows platform, we strive to write the code as close to pure C++ as possible.

As our new Software Engineer your typical tasks will include:

    • Participation in the entire development process, from requirements, analysis, and design – to implementation and test
    • Developing new applications in collaboration with colleagues
    • Investigate new areas and possibilities
    • Maintaining and expanding the existing software platform
    • Participation in cross functional teams with specialists within UX, ultrasound, clinical applications and more
    • Write automated tests and support our CI/CD system

    Your professional background:

You hold a degree as Computer Scientist or Software Engineer at a B.Sc. level or higher

    • Are newly graduated or have some years of work experience
    • Have experience with C++ and optionally Qt
    • Are familiar with linear algebra, specifically 3D transformations
    • Participate in an agile team and see the benefits of working in defined processes
    • Have experience with object-oriented development, including using design patterns and SOLID principles
    • May have experience in developing software for a Windows platform
    • Speak and write Danish and English

We look forward to receiving your application, in which you describe:

    1) Your motivation for becoming part of our Software Team in Herlev

    2) Your experience and skills that are particularly relevant to the role
