Industrial PhD project in clinical bioinformatics

We are looking for a motivated candidate who has an interest in clinical bioinformatics, linking data science with biology in a 3-year PhD project in the Pulmonary Research Team at Nordic Bioscience.

Chronic lung disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the third leading cause of death world-wide. COPD is a very heterogeneous disease and there is an unmet clinical need to identify subgroups of patients in order to develop novel treatment options.

This PhD project aims to identify clinically actionable COPD endotypes and biomarkers to achieve this goal. The work will primarily be based on a comprehensive database including clinical characteristics, biomarker data and genetic data from a large cohort of patients with COPD.
