Industrial PhD position: Stability Assessment of In Situ Railway Embankments

You can obtain a PhD from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) while working for Banedenmark - the Danish Railway company. We offer a PhD position in collaboration with DTU Sustain and Banedenmark that aims to bring us a step closer to building the future of railway: resilient and sustainable.

The objective of this project is to develop new procedures that would optimize assessment of existing railway embankments and design of new ones, reducing construction and maintenance costs thereby advancing the competitiveness of rail as a transportation means.

PhD scholarship: Computational Prediction of Nuclear Fission Products Behavior in a Molten Salt Reactor – DTU Chemistry

A 3-year PhD scholarship concerned with the use of computer simulation for predicting fission products (FP) behavior – such as solubility – in a Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) is available.

In the SolveMSR project – funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark – we will work towards creating a computational framework for predicting FP behavior in the fuel salt matrix of MSRs. We will benchmark the framework against experimental data.

PhD scholarship in Behavioural Experiments with Tradable Credits for Mobility – The Green Token Project – DTU Management

Could you envision “seeing” chemical reactions being catalyzed at the atomic-scale? Two or more scholarships are now open for experimental research in nanoparticle catalysis using advanced operando electron microscopy at the Center for Visualizing Catalytic Processes (VISION).

VISION is developing and applying a new unique platform for visualizing catalytic nanoparticles and reactions at the atomic-level by integrating cutting-edge electron microscopy, microfabricated nanoreactors, nanoparticle synthesis and computational modelling. You will be working within bacteriology and microbiology with emphasis on host-pathogen interactions and disease prophylaxis in fish. The focus will be the fish pathogen Flavobacterium psychrophilum and bacteriophages as a prophylactic control measure against disease outbreaks with this important pathogen in aquaculture.

Industrial PhD and Postdoc Positions in Machine Learning for Hearing Aid Systems

The projects will explore and design machine learning algorithms for processing potentially noisy sound signals in a hearing aid context, to increase speech intelligibility and sound quality, and to reduce listening effort.

The algorithms to be explored rely on hearing aid microphone signals, as well as additional multi-modal inputs, e.g., EEG/Ear-EEG, visual inputs, user body movements, and eye-tracking. We aim to develop algorithms which align with the user’s intent by continuously providing the sound signal of interest to the user.
