The Acoustic Technology group at DTU Electrical Engineering conducts research in experimental methods in acoustics, sound fields, architectural acoustics, signal processing, transduction, vibration and numerical methods. As a part of a new research project granted to Efren Fernandez Grande by the VILLUM foundation, we will initiate several projects on sound field analysis, measurement and reproduction. The research project is titled “large-scale acoustic holography”, and it aims at developing an experimental framework to capture the full three-dimensional acoustic field inside a room or enclosure.
The objective of the PhD project is to develop experimental methods to characterize the spatio-temporal properties of the sound field in a room, based on measurements with microphone arrays and distributed sensor networks.
The AER section focuses on aerodynamic and aeroacoustic research based on modelling and experimental techniques. The research in the AER deals with fidelities ranging from engineering models to vortex-based and CFD models, facilitating FSI methods and multidisciplinary design.
