PhD scholarship in Repurposing Microelectronics for Gut Sensing, Delivery, and Sampling Devices – DTU Health Tech
We seek a motivated PhD candidate to leverage microelectronics in the development of advanced ingestible devices for the gastrointestinal tract. These devices will harness microelectronics for wireless communication, controlling sensing mechanisms, sampling the gut environment, and releasing drugs.
A significant aspect of the research will involve repurposing (hacking) consumer microelectronics for EMGUT applications. We intend to explore a range of consumer electronics to meet the project's needs, including, but not limited to, wireless headsets, smart home devices, and smartwatches.

We are hereby announcing a PhD position within the topic of blue-light thin-film lithium niobate-on-insulator (LNOI) integrated photonics platform, which will be utilized for future optical phased array (OPA) - based underwater communication.
The project will among others consist of the following tasks:
- Design, optimize, fabrication and characterization of passive blue-light LNOI waveguide components, e.g. low-loss waveguides, couplers
- Design, optimize, fabrication and characterization of high-speed blue-light EO modulators
- Design, optimize, fabrication and characterization of on-chip blue-light silicon detectors

You will join our Connectivity scrum team, which is responsible for the development of our Bluetooth LE-Audio and audio path. This involves developing application software utilizing the Zephyr OS and integrating that solution in our proprietary platform.
