Job Description

Are you ready to lead innovation and shape the future of modular electrical solutions on a global scale? At CUBIC - a Rockwell Automation Company - we are looking for our new R&D Manager to lead the development of industry-leading products within a successful global organization.

As our R&D Manager, you'll lead a talented team of engineers and specialists in Brønderslev, Denmark, responsible for the entire product lifecycle – from concept to maintenance – of our innovative Cubic Modular System and Customized product lines. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to drive growth within a global team.

We are seeking an experienced R&D leader with a strong background in modular product development and a natural drive for innovation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Mentor: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Product Development: Oversee all aspects of new product development, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer requirements, and strategic business objectives.
  • Execute Release Management: Plan and execute successful product releases, coordinating with cross-functional teams (Business and Product Management, Commercial Marketing, and Operations) to ensure a smooth launch.
  • Improve Existing Products: Identify and implement improvements to existing products, addressing customer feedback and enhancing performance; drive organizational goals and KPIs.
  • Contribute to Strategic Planning: Contribute to the long-term R&D strategy for Cubic Modular Systems, identifying emerging technologies and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with global teams in engineering, manufacturing, quality, and sales to achieve common goals.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Experience: 8+ years of R&D experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing an engineering team.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of modular system design, product development processes, and testing/certification procedures. Experience with IEC, UL, and other relevant industry standards is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and ability to inspire accountability.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • International Experience: Experience collaborating with international teams and adapting to different time zones is highly desirable.
  • Budget/financial experience: Confident in forecasting and managing R&D budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Danish is required.
  • Project Management: Experience with Scaled Agile or other project management methodologies.
