What if your job could help people hear, connect, and live life with enhanced quality? At Demant, that’s what we do, and our Graduate Programme is your chance to be part of it.
We believe the best way to grow your career is to give you the freedom to explore it. In our Graduate Programme, you will rotate across diverse teams, tackle projects that matter, and develop the skills to unlock your full potential. You’ll be part of a global, inclusive community that celebrates curiosity, ambition, and the mindset to make a positive difference.
From day one, you will take on real responsibilities that accelerate both your personal and professional growth, preparing you to step into a permanent role after the programme. Many graduates also get the chance to broaden their horizons through an international assignment of up to six months in one of our offices abroad. Along the way, you’ll be supported by a great graduate community, dedicated training sessions, and inspiring company events.
Your graduate journey is built around three to four exciting rotations over two years, giving you the chance to explore different areas of our business while taking on real, impactful projects. Every step of the way, you’ll be growing your skills, broadening your perspective, and building a strong international network.
Joining the Intellectual Property track at Demant has been a great way to start my career. It has provided an opportunity to explore Demant's technology while fostering creativity and innovation. Throughout the Graduate Program, I have felt a strong sense of connection with colleagues and fellow graduates across the organization, creating a supportive and inspiring network around me. The program has empowered me to pursue my interests and encouraged my curiosity. Being part of Demant’s Intellectual Property track means contributing to meaningful projects that help protect and shape the future of hearing healthcare technology.
In our Intellectual Property (IP) team, you will get to turn your technical skills into strategic influence. We are a mix of Patent and Trademark Attorneys as well as IP Paralegals, and our primary objective is to continuously interact with Demant’s globally distributed business units and R&D organizations to ensure that Demant launches new products with the lowest litigation risk possible.
Our tasks include to assist Demant in obtaining the optimal balance between protecting new inventions from our R&D organizations, estimating our freedom-to-operate on the market, ensuring the correct and necessary branding, and at the same time meeting business goals.
Working opportunities are various and challenging. You will have a chance to collaborate closely with R&D, including getting a detailed technical insight into current development projects, which will enable you to estimate and advise on freedom-to-operate of new products before they are launched. You will at the same time learn how to draft patent applications and how to prosecute these applications at the European and US Patent Offices, which requires that you train your analytical, strategic, technical, and innovative skills.
In time, you are given a chance to join activities before the European Patent Office, where our own and competitors’ patent rights are frequently challenged, which requires us to argue before a tribunal of the European Patent Office both in writing and verbally.
In parallel with your daily work, you have the opportunity to educate yourself in a program to become a European Patent Attorney. This includes getting an in-depth knowledge of the legal framework of IP by studying the European patent law and following IP courses and seminars. Finally, you will have the opportunity to sit the European Qualifying Examination.
Are you ready to take the next step after your master’s degree? Whether you’re just finishing your studies or graduated within the past 1–2 years, our Graduate Programme could be the right fit for you. We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as Engineering or Science with technical knowledge including physics and electronics and related fields.
We’re looking for high performing graduates with a good track record, whether that shows in your academic results, your student job, or the initiatives you’ve taken outside of class.
But what matters most is that you are curious, ambitious, and eager to learn, and that you can collaborate well, think strategically, act pragmatically, and approach challenges with both can-do-attitude and humility.
