
Senior HSSE Specialist for Occupational Health and Safety

Nature Energy is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior HSSE Specialist who is passionate about creating safe and healthy working conditions—both in projects and daily operations. Your work location will be at the company´s headquarter in Odense and you will be reporting to the Head of HSSE.
About the Position
As a Senior HSSE Specialist, you will play a central role in our HSSE organization. Your time will be divided between two main areas:
1. P/B Coordinator Role in Projects
You will have overall responsibility for occupational health and safety coordination in projects—both in the design and construction phases—ensuring that our facility projects comply with applicable legislation and standards. You will be an important sparring partner for project management and contribute to creating safe conditions for both employees and partners.
2. HSSE Follow-up in Operations
Together with your colleagues in the HSSE team, you will work on daily follow-up on safety and health at our existing facilities. You will help identify risks, implement improvements, and strengthen the safety culture in collaboration with the operations organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as occupational health and safety coordinator (P/B Coordinator) in EU projects—from concept phase to completed construction
- Coordinate safety and health matters with project management and other stakeholders
- Prepare and maintain the Health and Safety Plan (PSS), including a log of relevant maintenance tasks
- Conduct risk assessments and describe necessary measures
- Participate in site visits and safety meetings
- Report incidents and contribute to solutions in collaboration with operations and management
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and internal standards
- Collaborate with the operations department on safety and occupational health in operations
- Develop and maintain HSSE procedures and instructions
- Support the occupational health and safety organization and contribute to knowledge sharing and competence development
Your Qualifications
- Education as occupational health and safety coordinator and solid experience with the P/B Coordinator role
- Experience from the process or energy industry (both conventional and sustainable)
- Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and preferably experience with ISO 45001
- Experience collaborating with authorities such as the Danish Working Environment Authority
- Knowledge of exposure factors such as noise, dust, ergonomics, and chemicals—and how to manage them
- Familiarity with technical aids and the HSSE control hierarchy
- Ability to assess the need for preliminary investigations (asbestos, PCB, contamination)
- Understanding of construction processes, materials, and occupational health risks
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—in Danish and English
- Structured and systematic approach, with the ability to work independently and in teams
- Experience with project management and strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and preferably project management tools)
