European Patent Attorney / Patent Attorney

Demant is a growing, world-leading hearing health care corporation that offers solutions such as hearing devices, hearing implants and diagnostic equipment as well as intelligent audio equipment. Demant is dedicated and highly engaged in developing innovative technologies and know-how making life-changing differences for people having a hearing impairment.

Our offer

You will join our Demant’s Intellectual Properties team, where we are a mix of Patent and Trademark Attorneys as well as IP Paralegals, all in all 13 colleagues. Our primary objective is to continuously interact with Demant’s globally distributed business units and R&D organizations to ensure that Demant launches products with the lowest litigation risk. We are located at Demant’s headquarters just outside Copenhagen.

In our team we have high team-spirits and support each other on a daily base. We believe that the best results are achieved through a team effort. We constantly share feedback and knowledge to improve our results. We have an informal and creative atmosphere where respect is pivotal, and we strive for the common goal.

As our team is growing, we have now two openings. We are looking for both a European Patent Attorney and a Patent Attorney.

The job

You will be participating in developing the team’s collective knowledge on technology and patent law. Our team engages in R&D project groups throughout the product development process and undertakes activities to establish freedom-to-operate, while continuously advising stakeholders. You will contribute to the growth of our international patent portfolio by participating actively in the handling of incoming ideas, preparation, and prosecution of new patent applications. And last, you will develop skills in various areas of IP practice such as in oppositions before the European Patent Office.

About you

You have an educational background as engineer or scientist, M.Sc.E, M.Sc., or Ph.D. and some years of practical experience within IP – possibly from practicing in the industry or in private practice. You are either supplemented with parts of European Qualifying Examination for European Patent Attorneys (such as pre-exam) or other national qualifying courses within IP. And last, your technical knowledge must include physics or electronics.

As a person, you have strong analytical skills and are able to quickly grasp new areas. In your work with IP, you have an eye for details and, at the same time, can communicate clearly and concisely with different stakeholders. You are structured and systematic and have an interest in understanding Demant’s business. You need to be fluent in English and have an efficiency in reading German.

Flexible working conditions

At Demant, we work in a dynamic environment built on trust and openness, where networking is key. We offer you flexible working conditions, an open forum for knowledge-sharing and a great team, which operates towards a common goal. You can feel the company’s energizing spirit the very moment you enter our premises. So come join us and be a part of our diverse crowd with many different nationalities and backgrounds.

We are looking forward to meeting you!

Please apply as soon as possible, as we meet candidates for interviews ongoing.
