Our Naval Command & Control (C2) System Integration team in Herlev provides mission critical solutions for the defense industry. To further strengthen our team of highly skilled colleagues, we are looking for an engineer with a passion for design and development of systems that deliver security for countries, alliances, and individuals.

Your responsibilities

As our C2 systems are composed of both hardware (servers, routers, and sensors) and software (communication standards and protocols), the job requires a solid understanding of and interest in both areas. The area of responsibility ranges from subsystems to the overall system functionality and performance. We will make sure that your responsibilities match your experience – and that you will be given opportunities that support and ensure your development.

Your concrete tasks will include:

• specification of requirements, defining architecture, and obsolescence management,
• design of system solutions, partition the complete system into subsystems, and define the interfaces between these,
• verification and validation of the complete solution to ensure that it meets the customer’s needs,
• hands-on maintenance of systems in collaboration with the Systems Integration Team,
• occasional visits at customer sites to integrate and validate solutions.

In general, communication across various competence domains is an important part of the job in this role.

Your qualifications

• A relevant education within electrical engineering, telecommunication, physics, computer science, or similar
• 3-5 years of experience in designing and developing systems (hardware as well as software) at a high abstraction level, e.g. through product development and/or customer specific project deliveries
• The ability to produce system specifications and can carry through the technical solution according to these specifications from the initial idea until end-of-life of the product
• A good knowledge of Linux, virtualization, containerization and orchestration, as well as network configuration and segmentation. Knowledge of international systems engineering standards, generic system descriptions languages or system deployment mechanisms (Ansible or similar) would be an advantage – but not a definite requirement
• The ability to design systems based on COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) products and follow through when elements become obsolete
