Focus on Novo Nordisk’s graduate programme
Do you wonder what it takes to become a graduate in Novo Nordisk? Jobindex has asked talent attraction specialist at Novo Nordisk, Sarah Marie Andreasen, that question.

Sarah has screened numerous applications for the graduate programme the last couple of years. She highlighted that future applicants should hold a recent master’s degree with maximum 1 year full time work experience, be result-oriented, ambitious and able to adapt. Furthermore, she highlighted that Novo Nordisk consider the following when choosing which applicants will go through to the next round:

  • International experience (Education or work)
  • Relevant work experience (Internships, student jobs)
  • Extracurricular Activities (School, charity, voluntary work…)
  • Clearly express why you want to be a part of the programme and demonstrate why you should be one of the final graduates

The process in 2012

Lise Munch-Hansen, Business Process Graduate at Novo Nordisk describes the recruitment process in 2012 like this: “In winter and spring 2012, the applications for Novo Nordisk’s graduate programme had been coming in from 107 countries all over the globe. At the closing time on February 12 2012 midnight CET, an overwhelming 4.447 applications were received, with the most popular programmes being Business Process, Global Marketing and Global Finance!”

After that an extensive internal process began. All the applications were handled by an experienced team of screeners. Every single application was read very carefully, and it was an enormous task that was taken with the utmost sincerity and humility. There were many good applications, and selecting the lucky few for the first round was not easy.

The selected applicants for a phone interview, heard from a HR representative who scheduled an appointment with the candidates. The candidates could then prepare for a good conversation that would challenge their CV and application.

80 candidates from 20 countries participated at Novo Nordisk’s Assessment Centre in Copenhagen for 2 days. Novo Nordisk arranged the flights and hotels for the selected candidates.

Novo Nordisk’s graduate programme will open for application 1 December 2012 and the deadline for the 2013-graduate positions will be 10 February 2013.
